Restless, eclectic creator...Asunción Pérez «Choni» was born in Seville. She is a certified teacher from the Higher Conservatory of Music and Dance of Seville. She has a long professional career as a soloist and as part of the artistic cast of important companies such as those of Mario Maya and Eva Yerbabuena, among others, touring numerous national and international theaters and festivals.
After obtaining the Giraldillo for "most Innovative show" at the XIV Flamenco Biennial with "Malgama, Circontemporáneo y compás" (2005) and the Giraldillo "Revelación" at the Choni Cía. Flamenca is located in one of the most prominent companies in the avant-garde of current flamenco. But it is with "La Gloria de mi mare" (2010), awarded with numerous awards, and with "Compás de Espera" (2015), where he continues to show the versatility that characterizes this special company.
A versatile choreographer, she likes to bet on new evolutionary ingredients, new interpretive formulas and exquisite stage parameters, who knows how to surround herself with everyone and everyone who bets on renewed airs where disparate forms can coexist, creating risky choreographies but of overwhelming beauty and plasticity.
